Seasonal Events in Aruba
Aruba is a melting pot of rich culture and history stemming from a Dutch and Caribbean origin. Aruba holds many events throughout the year that can be enjoyed by locals and tourists alike. An island paradise, there are plenty of marine themed events as well as land based extravaganzas.
From the 5th January to the 3rd March, Aruba celebrates its biggest party of the year. Located in over 5 venues across the island, lavish parades, drink and food are aplenty. The lighting parade is a favourite for all, while the grand carnival parade is the extravaganza on the streets of Oranjestad. The midnight burning of King Momo’s effigy marks the end of the season.
Aruba Flag Day
On March 18th pride flows on the streets of Aruba as Arubans celebrate their flag and anthem day. Independence from the Netherland Antilles was proposed on the day in 1948 and cultural events for families are held throughout the island. A recurrent favourite are the classic car parades on the island streets.
